David Gerstein

David Gerstein is an Israeli artist, born in Jerusalem, 1944. Studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts, and completed his MFA degree in graphic design from Saint Martin's School of Art in London. He also studied art in Paris and New-York. Was a senior instructor at the Bezalel's jewelry and illustration departments. Gerstein's early works were typically figurative. Towards the end of the 1990's, he began to develop his current style under the influence of pop-art, known for its cheerfulness and colorfulness. This unique style, which has won a wide audience all over the world, consists of three-dimensional works created by advanced technologies which combine sculpture and painting. Many of Gerstein's works depict everyday urban situations, and are characterized by an expressive momentum and cheerful colors. Gerstein exhibited extensively in Israel and abroad, his works are to be found in many collections all around the globe and his outdoor sculptures have been praised all over the world and are located- among others- at the Tel Aviv and Hebrew university and and also in London, Seoul and Singapore.
