Mark Braver

Mark Braver is an Israeli artist, born in Latvia - 1958. As a young art student, like many Latvian artists of his generation, he was forced to quit his studies in order to serve in the Red Army. His Jewish origin drove him to Zionist activities, which were prohibited at that time. He was arrested and imprisoned for five years in a rough Soviet prison, and survived thanks to his military experience. During his long imprisonment he decided that after his release, he would dedicate his life to culture and art. Due to his love for the Zionist homeland, he immigrated to Israel in 2000 and devoted his life to artistic practice. His works are characterized by bold colors and unique textures. His paintings come to life on the canvas with a multitude of colors, textures and original techniques.
