Slava Brodinsky

Slava Brodinsky is an Israeli artist, born in 1955 in Birobidzhan in eastern Russia. He began painting at an early age. Durig his childhood, Brodinsky studied in an art school, and after serving in the Soviet Army, he studied at the Academy of Arts of Birobidzhan. In 1979 he graduated with honors, and began exhibiting his works in the Soviet Union. Brodinsky is known for his ability to capture the sun's rays in his landscape paintings. In 1991 he immigrated to Israel with his family, and chose to paint the landscapes of the Galilee and northern Israel. Israel’s landscape - its typography lines and light - have become central themes in his paintings. His works are characterized by thick layers of paint and their mixing with natural elements, which together create a unique and earthly texture.
